M.E. stands for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and C.F.S. stands for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
It is often unpredictable, fluctuating on a daily basis and the official causes are unknown.
It is not laziness, apathy or being a hypochondriac. It is real and at times, very frightening. It is a sad fact that for a long time it has been long misunderstood and misdiagnosed as depression or ‘yuppie flu’.
It may surprise you that the majority of people who go down with it are highly active, high achieving perfectionists who burn the candle at both ends. Myself included.
This is what I fervently pray and wish for this week
I pray that one day we can all be doing what we love so that life is not a struggle going against our grain
I pray we can find an even deeper connection with our bodies, our emotions and our hearts, so that we know when a situation is not good for us and we can remove ourselves before our health breaks down.
I pray that we embrace our sensitivities and empathic nature, working with it not against it.
